MARCH’s most valuable
resource is its exceptional personnel. The company has
50 full-time employees of extremely high quality covering
management, accounting and administration, engineering
& project management, site supervisors, foremen,
leading hands, labourers, trades (drain layers, builders,
plumbers & gas fitters), operators and drivers.
MARCH also has full-time workshop staff covering plant
management, yard management, mechanics and welders.
Staff training is the way the company
reinvests in this most important resource. All employees
have the opportunity to up-skill through both outsourced
programs and practical training on the job. Younger
employees are brought up through the ranks training
under senior staff, currently 4 younger employees are
studying through Infratrain for their National Certificates
as Civil Foremen & Supervisors. All employees are
regularly trained in various health & safety matters.

Staff training is controlled through
regular personnel specific meetings to identify training
requirements & opportunities and training logs to
record current competencies of staff.
MARCH has always prided itself on low
staff turnover which indicates both happy workplace
and a very solid skill base as training and experience
is retained within the company. MARCH has 4 staff with
over 25 years service (not including founders and family
members) and many more with over 10 years. Younger staff
is being retained so this trend looks set to continue
into the future. |

sub-contractors and suppliers. The company philosophy is
that there is significant value to clients in providing
a proven team capable of executing their construction projects.
For this reason the company often brings professionals and
sub-contractors with whom it has an excellent working relationship
and who have proven their quality time and time again to
client’s projects.

MARCH owns a large
plant fleet including excavators, loaders, cranes, piling
hammers and power packs, 5 excavator mounted high frequency
vibrators, drilling equipment, trucks, tipulators & low-loaders,
dozers, scrapers, graders, extensive pumping and dewatering
equipment. All plant is maintained to the highest standards
by workshop mechanical staff. In recent times MARCH had embarked
on a plant upgrade program and growth in the business has
seen investment in new equipment meaning that plant is young,
reliable and productive. |
